" Wabi-Sabi" An exhibition of mobiles, installations and art work using enamel on metal.
Galerie Romain Rolland, Alliance Française, Next to Annex building of India International Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi
Wabi-Sabi by Veenu Shah. An exhibition of mobiles, installations and art work using enamel on metal. WABI-SABI is a beauty of things imperfect, impermanent and incomplete. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. t is a beauty of things unconventional. Artist's Comment : One always tries to extend one’s limitations and dimensions in one’s work. This time the extension is many dimensional in concept and expression, reflecting how my perceptions becoming multi-dimensional. The spirit is freer, the work has just flown and grown into multi-dimensional forms wanting expression and recognition. The desire and the joy of moving with the tide of time, to make the best of nature before man destroys it, the feeling of the gentle breeze making me swirl, the leaves dancing in the perfect light, flowers turning towards the sun, have all inspired this new body of work . Standing mobiles, mobiles hanging from the sky, flowers in bloom, fish wanting to escape contamination……the collection is very innovative and very original.

"TV-Viewers" an exhibition of photographs by Olivier Culmann. As part of Bonjour India Festival
Galerie Romain Rolland, Alliance Française, Next to Annexe building of India
'TV-Viewers' by Olivier Culmann. As part of Bonjour India Festival. Olivier Culmann photographs people watching TV. And their TV sets. The viewers’eyes are glued to the screen, hypnotized by the images that flicker by. Olivier Culmann captures that instant during which attention subsides and consciousness slumbers, rocked to sleep by the phosphorescence of the cathode ray tubes. At that instant, their bodies often become comfortable, they curl up on the couch and then collapse. Nothing could be more banal. And nothing more unsettling. Because that is how, in quasi immobile passivity, when the brain has gone numb, that we television viewers receive the world in its entirety. Not the real world, but an image of that world, a ghostly version of reality. The news, comedy series, broadcasts from the other ends of the planet, or from just downstairs, are plopped down before our anaesthetized eyes. Their impact is enormous. During that time during which existence is deadened, that may last a few minutes or several hours, our ideas about others evolve and are transformed. Our preconceptions collapse and others replace them, inexorably. Morocco, India, the United States, Mexico, Nigeria, United

Rock and Roll Photography by Shiv Ahuja
The Living Room ( T.L.R. ), 31, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi
Rock and Roll Photography by Shiv Ahuja. Every music scene needs someone with a sharp eye and a wide angle lens to visually document its development for posterity. The rock & roll scene in 1960's U.S.A. had Bob Gruen of Rolling Stone. Here & now in Delhi, we have Shiv Ahuja. It was just 2 years ago that the young Delhi native first offered to photograph a gig, just so that he could get entry for free! Now, at just 20 years old, Shiv has been published in Rolling Stone India, Rock Street Journal, Indian Express & elsewhere. He has snapped some of the biggest rock festivals (Eastwind, Big Horn, Great Indian Rock) and all the biggest Indian rock bands: Indian Ocean, Parikrama (pictured above right), Faridkot, Shaa'ir n Func, Menwhopause, Advaita and The Raghu Dixit Project are just the top of the extensive list.

"As I See It" an exhibition of paintings by Dr. Shiv Dev Singh
Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre ( IHC ), Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003
As I See It' an exhibition of paintings by Dr. Shiv Dev Singh. Dr. Shivdev has discovered how, with the use of the humblest of tools--crude brushes and raw paint--an artist looks to nature and creates paintings with a fresh perspective and vision. Shivdev’s landscape paintings take us on a journey around the world: to Africa, India, Russia, Canada, America, and across Europe. He views each painting not just as an opportunity to learn, but also as a means of discovery of something exotic in the world around us. We sense an apprehension of beauty and a process of learning that gives him great pleasure and allows him to exercise his mind in yet another new way.
