There are rules, but then no rules, as applied to painting - The best way to look at any form of advice regarding artist's painting techniques is to start by learning from the experience of the many great painters of the past and to retrieve some of these techniques while using modern mediums.

1. PAINTING ON PAPER

3. PAINTING ON WOOD

The most famous example of panel painting is the illustrious Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci.

4. PAINTING ON GLASS

5. PAINTING ON LACQUER

Lacquer usually comes in three colors - brown, black and vermilion. Later artists started to use a new technique known as chiseling to give it a richer mix of colors.

Through years of experience and experimentation, the artists use few other additions such as plant material ash, crushed eggshells, gold and silver, to adorn their works.

6. PAINTINGS ON CONCRETE

Painting your concrete is a good way to point out your art work. “Concrete painting” can be aesthetically pleasing since it’s a unique way to have fun with color and art. This type of painting spoils very fast if used on a regular basis. However precautions could be taken to increase its longevity.

USAGE

1.Painting a concrete surface protects them and to make them more attractive.

2.To make concrete surfaces more attractive, a recent development is staining the surface.

3.The stain that is used penetrates the concrete surface and it will not peel off like paint does after some time.

 ADVICE

1.When painted concrete surfaces become wet, they tend to become very slippery and pose a health   risk to people.

2. Paints or colors on concrete do not last very long.
